Kevin Power

Kevin Power is a critic and curator. He is the chair of American Literature at the University of Alicante and former deputy director of the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid. He has curated exhibitions on Julian Schnabel (Carmen, Sevilla),James Lee Byars in Valencia and Granada, Eco: Contemporary Mexican Art (Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid) Políticas de la Diferenica on Latin American contemporary art (MALBA, Buenos Aires, Museum of Contemporary Art in Recife, Brazil),While Cuba Waits (Track 16, L.A.) among many others. He has also authored numerous articles and books such asPoética Activa: La Poesia Norte American pos 60New Cuban Art: A Critical AnthologyPolke’s Postmodern Strategies;Geometría y Visión: Una Conversación con Pablo Palazuelo etc.

Kevin Power

Mónica Carballas was an exhibition co-ordinator at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid in 2000-07. She was awarded a fellowship by the Fundación Marcelino Botín for Curatorship in 2007 for her work on Brazilian Experimental Art. She has curated exhibitions such as Experimental Rio: Beyond Art, Poetry and Action, 2010 at Fundación Botín in Santander; Labyrinth of Visibility: Experimental Audiovisual works during Dictatorships for the Trienal de Artes Visuales in Santiago de Chile, 2009; and Activar una historia, that formed part of the program of the Valencia Bienal, 2007. She also co-ordinates the publishing project Pisueña Press, in Spain, that publishes the series White Wine Press.

Purissima Benitez-Johannot is a Lecturer in the Department of Art Studies of the UP, Diliman. For the last thirty years, she has worked in the field of art: at the Museum of Philippine Art and Ayala Museum in Manila, in the Center (now Museum) for African Art, Independent Curators Inc., The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Barbier-Mueller Museum in Geneva. She has edited and written chapters in Sièges d’Afrique noire, Unfolding Half a Century: The Lopez Memorial Museum and Library, Land of the Morning: The Philippines and Its People,Paths of Origins: The Austronesian Heritage and The Life and Art of David Medalla. She was English edition editor of Arts & Cultures, a magazine published in Switzerland on the arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas.
